Geologist

Project geologist to provide geological skills and field support at the Imperial's Mount Polley property near Williams Lake, BC. The position requires organized, motivated individuals who are ready to take on new challenges and work within a team environment. Applicants must be prepared to work in a remote location for extended periods of time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• education/experience in Geology/Earth Sciences
• previous field experience
• core logging skills
• computer skills (Microsoft office, database knowledge)
• valid class 5 drivers license
• GPS experience, basic GIS skills (ArcView, ArcPad) and knowledge of geologic modeling programs (MineSight) are considered an asset but not necessary

Red Chris Development Company Ltd.

Project Update

Currently, only the Red Chris exploration camp site is staffed. In the near future, we expect to issue contracts* for the following positions:
  • camp installation contractor: Awarded to Tahltan Horizon North Services Inc. www.northerntrailer.com
  • camp maintenance and catering contractor
  • excavation contractors to prepare the site and construct the tailings dam
  • concrete contractor to install the building foundations
  • building contractor for the concentrator building, truck shop and crusher
  • mechanical contractor to install equipment and piping
  • electrical contractor to install power and controls

In 2013 we expect to begin staffing for positions for the Red Chris mine; specifically equipment operators and mechanics.

Mount Polley Mining Corporation

Senior Assayer

Reporting to the Chief Assayer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate qualitative and quantitative analyses and reporting of samples from the mill, mine, metallurgical, exploration and environmental departments. Strong literacy with applicable computer software programs is essential, particularly Office, Access and LIMS.

The candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills as well as have the ability to mentor less experienced personnel. Strong organization and time management skills including a positive and pro-active attitude towards safety will be considered a strong asset. A minimum of five years of analytical experience including both fire assay and wet analysis are crucial. An applicable degree or diploma and British Columbia Assayer certification or the equivalent are also desirable.

Mechanized miners will have experience in decline and incline development, and Conventional miners will have experience in all aspects of conventional mining. Huckleberry Mines Ltd.

Electrician

Reporting to the Chief Electrician, this position is responsible for the installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of all electrical apparatus in a 19,000 tonne per day modern copper/molybdenum mine. You must be able to perform in a team oriented environment of electrical and instrumentation peers.

The successful candidate must possess a journeyman's trade qualification and have a minimum of five years experience in an industrial environment with preference to individuals with experience in a mineral processing plant. Instrumentation, PLC and programming experience would be considered an asset. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

Huckleberry is a remote mine and its employees live in a camp environment on their days of work. The Electrician position works an 8x8 or 7x7 schedule (days on X days off). While at the mine site, all meals and accommodations are provided free of charge to employees. Transportation is provided from Houston.

Assayer

Reporting to the Chief Assayer, this position is responsible for the analysis of samples from the mill and pit using atomic absorption, a spectrophotometer and Leco analyzer. Methods to be trained on include acid digestion with an AA finish on low grade pulps and a wide range of ABA analytical methods. The successful applicants primary focus will be on ABA testing which on a daily basis due to requirements of our current mining plan. The successful applicant will be work cross shift with the chief assayer.

The successful candidate will be working towards their BC Assayer's Certificate or a diploma in analytical chemistry or, a minimum of one year assay experience and computer experience with Microsoft Excel and Access. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

Mill Maintenance General Foreman/Planner

Mill Maintenance General Foreman/Planning Lead will direct our multi-disciplined team of maintenance personnel. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this position is responsible for planning jobs and supervising trades personnel in the maintenance and repair of a 19,000 tonne per day copper mineral processing plant. The job also encompasses repair and upkeep of a 250 person camp and mine site buildings and infrastructure. This position:

· Ensures all safety procedures and policies are followed when performing work
· Ensures the availability of all of the mill equipment for production
· Coordinates maintenance functions within the mill with mill and mine operations
· Maintains cost control
· Promotes a team atmosphere.
· Requires excellent time management and organizational skills

The successful candidate will possess a journeyman millwright trade qualification and have a minimum of five years supervisory experience directing maintenance crews. The candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as this position is required to regularly liaise with other maintenance sections as well as operations. The candidate must have competent computer skills with experience with Microsoft Office, CMMS programs and Preventive Maintenance programs.

Huckleberry is a remote mine where its employees live in a camp environment during their days of work. This position works a Monday to Thursday, 4 x 3 schedule (4 days in, 3 days out). While at the mine site all meals and accommodations are provided free of charge to employees. Transportation is provided from Houston and Smithers. Mine Engineer

Mine Engineer, reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer, responsible for most aspects of mine engineering and operates in a computerised, mine engineering environment. Cross training in all engineering activities is essential. The engineering group consists of five mine engineering positions. The group is responsible for long and short range planning, mine design, drilling and blasting design, ore control, dewatering, mine operations, geology and production records. This position will also be involved in pit optimization and feasibility studies for mine life extension.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• mine engineering degree
• eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia
• 5 years min. experience as a Mine Engineer in a computerized open pit engineering group
• Computerized mine planning skills are required and a knowledge of EMCOR, Whittle, AutoCAD, Windows based programs is an asset
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Supervisory skills would be an asset

As this position is required to regularly liaise with mine operations personnel and senior management, the successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and must be able to work in a team environment.
